Course Description

Drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the United States, and most drug overdoses involve opioids. Learn what an opioid overdose looks like and how both healthcare providers and lay rescuers can help combat this epidemic.

Learn about the current opioid epidemic in the US and examples of prescription and illegal opioids. Identifying a possible opioid overdose and how to use naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose are also discussed in this course.
